I was a bit unsure about whether a „wild child“ like a harpy would be a good fit for my keep … I had been considering it but dismissed the idea given my rather limited time at the moment. But then I kept getting VERY clear signs that this was the way to go, and since I fully trust Billy as a conjurer, I went into this very confidently. As per usual, Billy’s choice for a spirit who fits into my keep was great. A, my harpy child, has an amazing resonance signature. She is also, at the same time, an excellent example of why you can’t always fully rely on the description given to a spirit „species“ as a whole. While A can seem animalistic, can get quite fierce and enjoys roughhousing from time to time, she’s quite gentle overall and just an adorable little handful. She’s very protective of my spirit keep, but she gets along very well with every member of it. She can quickly shift between calm attentiveness and playful joy, depending on what is more appropriate. Her attunement was instantly very strong, like a young bird who imprints. For the first weeks, she truly was a little „limpet“, she made her present known all day, every day, but it has since relaxed a bit. She’s been with me for a few months now so I feel like I can make a realistic evaluation. Her energy is strong and she is able to communicate very clearly through my clair senses, even though she doesn’t talk much in the traditional sense, she’s still very expressive and communicative. She’s not been showing much in the way of magic yet, but she might well still grow into it, and if not, that’s perfectly fine, too. She has been loving the offerings of kestrel feathers I have been giving her. I love kids, and I love birds, so really, a harpy orphan, who is a child who sometimes acts more like a bird, is a perfect fit. Sometimes things just are this simple.
